Rebecca Naughton
Hi, I am Rebecca, and Welcome to Different Roots.
I am an educator, maker, explorer, forager, lover of all things natural and herbalist by heart. My love for nature, heritage and health and wellbeing has led me to train in multiple nature based trainings; Forest Bathing, Forest School Leadership and most recently I started my training in a 4 year Medical Herbalist Training.
Different Roots aim is to:
Teach creative skills and facilitate process orientated arts for growth, development, healing and wellbeing.
Help others in developing a closer relationship to the natural world & gently reawaken to the presence of the wild that lives all around us and within us.
Foster more meaningful human connection.
Preserve and pass on traditional knowledge
The focus of my work lies in the arts for wellbeing, nature connection and herbal medicine. I currently offer creative workshops and programmes and seasonal nature based workshops & programmes.
I have discovered that while online learning is great, there is no replacement for the transmission and sharing of knowledge, skills and wisdom in interactive in person learning environments. I really enjoy creating spaces that bridge the meditative art making and nature together.
I was a cofounder of a Dublin Forest School, where I worked with a diversity of schools, homeschool and after school programmes. I have worked with both adults and children, developing and facilitating both long term outdoor learning and wellbeing programmes and creative workshops.
My greatest passion is the plants and herbal medicine and I believe everyone benefits from having knowledge and a connection to what grows and lives around us.
